Yesterday was a wonderful day! I woke up early because my dad promised to take me to the zoo. It was my first time, and I felt very excited.
We got on the bus, and the ride took about thirty minutes. When we arrived, the entrance was very big. Dad bought the tickets, and we walked inside. It was noisy and full of people.
The first animals we saw were the monkeys. They were very funny! They jumped up and down and ate bananas quickly. Then, we walked to see the large animals. The elephants were huge, and they sprayed water with their long noses. I was a little scared of the lions because they looked so strong, but they were sleeping under a tree.
My favorite part was seeing the pandas. They were very cute and were sitting and eating bamboo. They looked so peaceful. Before we left, we bought some souvenirs, like a small toy monkey and a postcard.
I was very tired when we got home, but I was also very happy. I told my mom all about the animals and promised to look at my new postcard every day. I hope to visit the zoo again next year!
